How To Apply
Magnetic/Chalkboard
Paint

1.  Clean the Wall you are painting. Now is a
good time to spackle fill those holes.

2.  Establish the Area you will be painting by
taping off the area with painters tape. You can do an entire wall, a pattern, or small area.  Can your child reach the area?

3.  Use a Foam Roller as much as possible, as opposed to a brush when painting. This provides the smoothest surface. Each coat of magnetic paint makes the area magnetically stronger. Let each coat dry before adding another. If you are just looking for a magnetic wall - you are done with the primer phase.  You can now cover it with any color of your choice.  The magnetic primer paint will work fine underneath - as long as you don't add too many layers of finish paint.

4.  If you are creating a chalk wall on top of the magnetic paint all you need to do is paint over the magnetic primer with your chalk paint - 2 coats should be enough.

5.  Allow the New Paint to "cure" for 3 to 4 days.

6.  Before using Your New Chalk surface for the first time, go over the entire surface with a piece of chalk (drag horizontally).  Then wipe off with a dry felt cloth and erase as much of the chalk as you can.  Finally use a damp sponge and wipe the surface clean and allow to dry - your chalk surface is now primed and ready to go!
