What Is The Best Paint
To Use For Walls?
- They contain more paint pigments and binders
- They are more durable - repaint in 10 years rather than 4
with the more inexpensive types
- Better can to can color uniformity
- Often need fewer coats to complete the job
- Better selected sheen result
Latex Or Alkyd?
Frankly - why would you want to use oil based paint at all. With Latex being less toxic, have little or no odor, dry's quickly and cleans up easily. The color is less likely to fade than oil based and is far superior when it comes to the risk of chipping or cracking than alkyd paints.
The exception of course, is when you are applying faux finishes to a wall. Many of these do require an oil based glaze or wash to create exceptional results.

Premium Paint Only!
Premium paints are the better choice across the board.
Whether you choose water based (Latex) or oil based (Alkyd) the premium paint will outlast and out perform the more inexpensive paint types. How?
